Marrakech-Menara Airport is only about 4 km away, roughly a ten-minute drive, and the front desk can arrange an airport shuttle so you are not left negotiating a taxi on arrival. Marrakech train station, with direct services from Casablanca, Rabat and Fez, is about 2.7 km from the hotel. The catch is the last stretch: the Medina's lanes are narrow, crowded and largely closed to cars, so vehicles can only get so close and there is no parking at the hotel. Travel light, and let reception know your arrival time so someone can meet you and guide you in through the alleys.
You are in the middle of everything. Jemaa el-Fnaa, the great square of storytellers, food stalls and snake charmers, is about 150 m away, and the minaret of the Koutoubia rises just beyond it. The souks spread out immediately to the north, and within a short walk you reach Le Jardin Secret, the Mouassine district and the Ben Youssef Madrasa with its carved cedar and zellij. A little further sit the Marrakech Museum, the Bahia Palace, the El Badi Palace and the Saadian Tombs, all in the southern Medina. For a change of pace, the Jardin Majorelle and the Yves Saint Laurent Museum are about a fifteen-minute walk or a short taxi ride in Gueliz. Wear shoes you can walk in — the medina is best explored slowly and on foot.
